Get Ready for Geo Bee 2008-2009!

Important dates to remember:

Sequence of events:

• November 24, 2008 - January 9, 2009 : Geo Bee practice in advisor and social studies classes.
• January 12th-January 15th: Preliminary competition in social studies classes to determine semifinalists. One person from each social studies section or lower school home room goes to the semifinals.
• January 16^th (Friday): Semifinals during ASM in Robb Hall to determine the Fenn finalist.
• Finalist takes written test at Fenn during the week of January 19th. Test is sent to National Geographic for grading before January 31st.
• State Geography Bee takes place on April 3, 2009, for those who qualified through their test results.
• National Geography Bee takes place on May 19 and 20, 2009 in Washington, D.C.
