¿Qué es un refrán?

Un refrán es un dicho. Una frase que tiene un significado específico. Puede ser una metáfora o una expresión idiomática.

1.Aunque la mona se vista de seda,

mona se queda

Translation:

Even when the female monkey dresses in

silk, she will still be a monkey.

Meaning:

Clothes do not change one’s personality or

character.

 

2. En boca cerrada no entran moscas

Flies do not enter a closed mouth.

Meaning:

If you keep quiet, you do not put your foot in

your mouth.

 

3. Cuentas claras, amistades duraderas

Translation:

Clear accounts, lasting friendships.

Meaning:

With clear understanding you have lasting

friendships.

Translation:

Meaning:

Do not meddle in other’s affairs. Do not start

trouble.

Meaning:

Translation:

Meaning:

The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Translation:

your own.

Translation;

Where there were strong feelings, some

feeling remains.

Keep a good face even when the weather is

bad.

Meaning;

Have a good outlook on things even when

the situation may be adverse.

 

 

12. No dejes para mañana, lo que

puedas hacer hoy.

Do not leave for tomorrow what you can do

today.

Meaning;

Do not procrastinate.

 

13. Nunca falta la mosca en la sopa.

Siempre hay una piedra en el zapato.

There is always the fly in the soup. There is

always a pebble in your shoe.

 

14. Perro que ladra no muerde.

Dog that barks does not bite.

Meaning;

Do not pay attention to people who just speak

and may never carry out their threats.

 

15. Dime con quien andas, y te dire quien

eres.

Tell me who you walk with, and I will tell you

who you are.
